Things we learned from Dad

I just found a copy of this...my sisters and I made it for my dad's father's day card in 2007. MY dad is the best!

Things We Learned From Dad

You can achieve anything if you try hard enough.
There is nothing wrong with sucking a toe every once in a while.
Determination and persistence pay off.
Playing with your kids after a long day of work is something your kids will never forget.
Advice is accepted best when asked for.
“Getting down” in front of your kids will always be cool.
You cannot air condition the great outdoors.
God really does perform miracles.
There really are great men out there.
Nothing takes the place of a sense of humor.
It is possible to have more than one favorite child.
Always say “ahhhh” after taking a drink of coffee.
Complaining won’t make things better.
Honor and respect your parents.
When you take my money, you take my advice.
Real men aren’t afraid of curling irons.
Don’t drink 8 white Russians when there is a dog nearby.
Laughter is the best medicine.
How to make a perfect egg.
Doing the right thing is “just the right thing to do”.
You don’t want your child to be a lyin’ child.
The only things certain in life are death and taxes.
Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad.
If mom says no, go ask dad.
How 100 kisses feels.
Beer is only for adults and kids with fake i.d.’s.
By the time a child realizes her father was right, she has a son who thinks she is wrong.
The most important thing a father can do for his children is love their mother.
Always have a back up plan.
People are not their mistakes.
You can have time or money, but you can rarely have both.
Biscuits and gravy tastes just as good for dinner.
Turn the lights off when you leave a room.
Constant use of the remote may cause carpel tunnel syndrome.
Always put the phone back on the cradle.
½ banana
+ 1 piece of bread
+ 2 egg whites
+ 1 piece of fat free cheese
Exactly300 calories
Drinking a bottle of water and walking the short block never cured anything.
Put Curèl on it.

Going on my honeymoon

So, we are finally leaving for our honeymoon on Tuesday...long awaited vacation. I can't wait to relax, lay on the beach, and do absolutely nothing. Regardless of how simple you try to make it, planning a wedding is exhausting and stressful. Especially when you throw a tornado in the mix. Thank Goodness I had so much help from so many people.

Maybe I'll actually have something to blog about when we get back...I'm sure Tyler will create some type of silly story for me to tell. :-)

Until then...
